#160 - LADY WILLPOWER by GARY PUCKETT AND THE UNION GAP

#159 - LOOKIN' OUT MY BACK DOOR by
CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL

#158 - THEME FROM "VALLEY OF THE DOLLS" by DIONNE WARWICK

#157 - LET'S HANG ON by THE FOUR SEASONS

#156 - SPILL THE WINE by ERIC BURDON AND THE ANIMALS

#155 - A GROOVY KIND OF LOVE by THE MINDBENDERS

#154 - IN THE GHETTO by ELVIS PRESLEY

#153 - TWIST AND SHOUT by THE BEATLES

#152 - BACK IN MY ARMS AGAIN by THE SUPREMES

#151 - RINGO by LORNE GREENE

I've long maintained that "Twist And Shout" should have counted as a #1 Record for The Beatles ... it topped the charts in both Cash Box and Record World.

Likewise titles like "Let's Hang On", "Spill The Wine", "Lookin' Out My Back Door" and "A Groovy Kind Of Love" have always been considered #1 Records by most of the music fans I know.

And cheating Elvis Presley out of another #1 ("In The Ghetto" topped the charts in Cash Box and Record World, too) just never seemed right ... this record was a HUGE part of his comeback!
